I don’t know about you, but there is not enough storage in my house!
Most specifically, our hall closet. We use it to store pretty much all of our cleaning and bathroom products – Windex, shampoo, towels, toothpaste, and so on.
This is what my closet looked like (it was actually worse, but I started “fixing” it before I took the photo.)
I knew that Dollar Tree had baskets/buckets and I figured I could find some cheap plastic tubs to store stuff in. That way when I needed something I could just pull out the basket instead of knocking everything over in the closet and getting frustrated.
The first Dollar Tree store I went to did not have them. I was so disappointed, but I know they change their stock every so often and figured I’d just have to wait until they got nice buckets/bins in again. Last night I realized that there is a Dollar Tree store between my gym and the grocery store so I decided to check it out (after the gym, before the grocery store ;)) and lo and behold!
We actually already have one of these (it’s a touch larger though) which we use for bath toys. I initially bought that first one to be used as a clothes hamper for my daughter’s bedroom, until I found a cheap hamper in the One Spot at Target for her, then it moved into the bathroom to be a hamper there and finally it has become a place to put bath toys. (The holes are great for draining out the water, too!)
Anyway, so when I saw these last night I knew they would work perfectly for my intended purpose!
I ended up buying five, plus a smaller hand basket one to be used for… something! Currently I have four put to use in the closet. I have them somewhat arranged by type. I have “harsh” cleaning products like CLR and Lysol and stuff. I have “hair” products – shampoo, conditioner, moouse, No More Tangles, etc. As it turns out, we had so many personal products hidden in that closet that I started a second one featuring six – yes, six! – tubes of toothpaste, a stick of deodorant and multiple un-used toothbrushes. It was like going shopping without actually buying anything!
It’s not perfect, but it’s a start!
